6/12/20 – Coins, Commonwealth, and the Hoard that got away

I was out on a cold and damp morning around East Pennard in Somerset squelching along the bottom of a slope that old maps show had been a drover’s road, etc. I’d been in fields a couple of miles away a few weeks earlier and found several Roman and early Medieval bits but had no idea what to expect on this farm…
